(Hollywood, CA – December 2, 2024)—As Sonic the Hedgehog races back to the big screen this December, his spirit of courage and compassion will take on new meaning in a partnership dedicated to protecting animals around the globe.
Reflecting Sonic’s mission to help others, Paramount Pictures has chosen IFAW US as its latest social impact partner ahead of the December 20th premiere of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. In addition to financial support, Paramount Pictures will donate limited-edition tote bags to the first 100 donors who give $50 or more to IFAW (US shipping only).
"Paramount Pictures is thrilled to join forces with IFAW as we celebrate the premiere of Sonic the Hedgehog 3," said Jennifer M. Lynch, Senior Vice President of Global Corporate Social Responsibility & Internal Communications at Paramount Pictures. “The work IFAW does to protect and rescue animals globally reflects Sonic’s enduring message of bravery, speed, and compassion, and we are honored to help shine a light on their efforts through this partnership.”
As part of this exciting partnership, a special PSA featuring the cast of Sonic 3—Ben Schwartz as ‘Sonic,’ James Marsden as ‘Tom,’ and Tika Sumpter as ‘Maddie’—will be released, showcasing Sonic’s heroic themes and IFAW’s vital efforts in conservation and rescue.
Ashley Baker, Deputy Vice President of Institutional Giving at IFAW said that while Sonic and his friends dash across the globe to help those in need, IFAW shares the same mission with its rescue and protection efforts for animals in over 40 countries.
“From endangered sea turtles and injured hedgehogs to vulnerable echidnas, IFAW’s work mirrors Sonic’s courageous spirit, bringing critical support to animals across the globe.
“We are inspired by this opportunity to share IFAW’s message with Sonic’s fans, inviting them to join us in creating a world where animals and people can thrive together.”
