25th annual Animal Action Awards: 2025 nominations are open
Do you know an individual or organisation that has made an extraordinary contribution during the last year towards animal conservation, rescue, or welfare?
Through our annual Animal Action Awards, IFAW recognises outstanding efforts to support animals or help animals and people thrive together. This year, we are looking for nominations in eight categories:
- Wildlife Rescue Award: This award will recognise individuals or organisations that have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to the field of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
- Fighting Wildlife Crime Award: This award will recognise the many frontline heroes in conservation and local communities protecting wildlife from poaching and illegal trade, ranging from wildlife rangers safeguarding protected areas to wildlife crime researchers and law enforcers.
- Climate Champion of the Year Award: This award will recognise individuals or organisations demonstrating extraordinary commitment to bringing animals into climate change action, acknowledging the significant role wild animals and rewilding play in enabling natural ecosystems to absorb and store more carbon.
- Women in Conservation Award: This award will recognise the inspirational and trailblazing contributions of women currently working in conservation and rescue.
- Animal of the Year Award: This award will recognise the work of individual animals who make significant contributions to the lives of people or other animals.
- Innovator of the Year Award: This award will recognise individuals or organisations that have taken innovative approaches to solving conservation or animal welfare issues.
- Storyteller of the Year Award: This award will recognise those creating powerful stories and messages to raise awareness of issues in conservation and animal welfare, helping to inspire change.
- Lifetime Achievement Award: This award recognises those who have dedicated their lives to rescue or conservation and have made a meaningful difference in their field.
Nominate a wildlife hero:
At least six winners will receive the cash award equivalent of GBP 1,000 in their local currency and a trip to London to attend a celebratory awards ceremony. Full details are available here.
