Many donors appreciate the tax benefits of donating cryptocurrency since it is a non-taxable event, meaning you do not owe capital gains tax on the appreciated amount and can deduct it on your taxes.

We gladly accept many of the best-known cryptocurrencies (see list below) and will use your generous gift immediately and where needed most to save animals.

Why crypto?

When you donate crypto to IFAW, you do not recognize capital gains from the donation and can deduct it on your taxes. In other words, donating your crypto can often reduce your tax burden.

Is my cryptocurrency donation tax deductible?

The IRS classifies cryptocurrencies as property, so cryptocurrency donations to 501(c)(3) charities receive the same tax treatment as stocks. Donating cryptocurrency is a non-taxable event, meaning you do not owe capital gains tax on the appreciated amount and can deduct it on your taxes. Please contact your tax or financial advisor for more information.

You can access IFAW's wallet address with the widget above. Once you enter the type of cryptocurrency and reach the third step, you will receive a unique wallet address which can be used to complete your donation.

Will I get a receipt with my donation?

In order to receive a receipt with your donation, you must enter your email when prompted to in the widget.

What is the Refund Policy?

Cryptocurrency donations are non-refundable. No goods, services or airdrops are offered in exchange for cryptocurrency donations.
