South Africa Access Information

The Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (commonly known as PAIA) is South Africa’s access to information law and it enables people to gain access to information held by both public and private bodies. 

As a private body, the International Fund for Animal Welfare NPC (IFAW) is obliged to publish an information manual (PAIA Manual) which contains a record of all processing operations under its responsibility.

The aim of the PAIA manual is to assist with requests for access to information held by IFAW South Africa and explains to the public:

1. how they can request access to the information that IFAW holds;
2. what information IFAW holds. 

The Manual is prepared in accordance with Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act No. 2 of 2000. It may be amended from time to time and as soon as amendments have been made, the latest versions of the manuals will be published.
