the European Commission launches a consultation on ivory
The European Commission launched today a public consultation on ivory trade.
Ivory trade in the European Union (EU) is subject to strict EU rules. The consultation aims at compiling information and views on the extent, structure and main features of legal and illegal trade in ivory in and from the EU, as well as on the priorities that the EU should follow in its approach against ivory trafficking
The results of this 16-page long survey will then inform decisions on the possible adoption of additional EU measures regarding ivory trade.
The consultation will run until 8 December 2017.
