Once widely found across Asia, the wild Asian elephant population has estimated to have almost halved since the beginning of the century to currently at around 48,323–51,680, and occupies fragmented habitats in 13 countries. For more than 20 years, IFAW has been promoting and safeguarding human-elephant co-existence.
