Animal keeper, biologist and communications professional; Andreas Dinkelmeyer brings a plethora of practical experience, expertise and competencies to the German IFAW team. Andreas is also well-versed in various languages — English, Dutch, French — as well as has a large love for animals, regardless if they are the local birds, elephants or the gentle giants in the seas. After receiving his diploma in Biology and an education as Public Relations Expert, Andreas joined the IFAW communication team in Hamburg in 2000.
Today, Andreas serves as Campaigns and Communication Manager enabling him to best use his expertise to help save animals. His current focus is the protection of the ocean, especially the increasing threat of underwater radiated noise. He is part of the IFAW delegation at various international forums like the International Whaling Commission and the International Maritime Organization. Andreas supports the international Marine Conservation Program as Communication expert to help gain attention for the plight of marine life.
Finding solutions for Human/Animal conflicts, on land or at sea, is one of his driving forces.
For the Disaster Response & Risk reduction Program, Andreas is currently building a campaign in Germany to have animals included in disaster preparedness plans. Being prepared is vital as climate change issues and natural catastrophes increase in Germany and around the world.
