our approach
We believe that every animal matters. Every animal is part of a species, and every species depends on its habitat for survival.
IFAW is a global non-profit helping animals and people thrive together
We believe that every animal matters. Every animal is part of a species, and every species depends on its habitat for survival.
IFAW was founded by Brian Davies in 1969 with the goal to stop the commercial hunt for whitecoat seals on the east coast of Canada.
Together, our international programs deliver immediate and lasting impact for animals, people and the place we call home.
Since 1969, IFAW has provided hands-on assistance to and protection of animals in need, and global leadership on pressing issues impacting their health, well-being and survival.
IFAW is a network of experts exploring new ideas to create real solutions.
At IFAW, we are proud to work with our partners to ensure animals and people can thrive for years to come.
In order to achieve IFAW’s vision of animals and people thriving together, we follow key principles in our work.
