Wildlife crime is one of the largest areas of transnational criminal activity, putting at risk the survival of thousands of species of animals, endangering the lives of people, and accelerating the ongoing collapse of biodiversity. Between 1999-2018, approximately 6,000 species of wildlife were seized from trade. The scale of this problem is global, and the implications are catastrophic. (1)
The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) are dedicated to disrupting the illegal wildlife trade and to protecting threatened animals and people.
We hope you will join us to learn more about our work and how you can help propel efforts to reduce the number of wild animals removed from their habitats, prosecute the perpetrators, reduce consumer demand, and return animals to the wild safely.
