Wildlife trafficking is not only a threat to the survival and conservation of species, but also poses a threat to the communities that share their lands with wildlife. IFAW developed a specialized capacity building workshop called Detecting Illegal Species through Prevention Training (DISRUPT) since 2007, to provide concerned local authorities with the essential knowledge and expertise to stop wildlife trafficking, and to implement the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
